Dublin Day 1

Travel day - February 27, 2020

Today is a travel day! We took an Aircoach from Belfast to the Dublin airport, and from there, a shuttle bus to the Iveagh Garden Hotel.

The aircoach is super easy to find, and ran about every hour. Best to book in advance though! A one way ticket is 13 euros which approximates to about $15 USD. Dropped us off at the Dublin Airport.

We took the early evening to explore our neighborhood and made our way to the pippin area of Trinity College. We had dinner at Boxty which is a traditional potato pancake with various fillings. Delish! We got corned beef and chicken! Temple bar was filled with tourists so we popped into The Foggy Dew, recommended by our server.

Belfast Day 3

Day 3 - February 26th, 2020

Low key day today, went to a coffee shop to read and enjoy a treat (a piece of vegan banana bread and an americano).

Thomas and I met up in the evening for our dinner at OX, it was like a 10 course mini series. So good! The flavors melded together in ways we wouldn’t have thought to do so. Such a fantastic Michelin dining experience with my dear love.

Belfast Day 2

Day 2 - February 25th, 2020

While Thomas headed to the office, I moseyed my way over to downtown. First stop, BOOTS! Popular drugstore in the UK, and since Belfast is 12th largest city in the UK I got to visit boots. It’s been almost 6 or 7 years since I last stepped inside. Mini haul here:

I spotted a cool deli across from Boots and popped in, omg it was like a NY deli, European style. It was packed full of European chocolates, coffees and teas, a whole variety of CRISPS (potato chips, to us in the states), cold deli salads, fresh made sandwiches, and desserts galore. I went for a loaded sandwich and brought it to go!

I made myself a little picnic bench at the Belfast Botanic Garden and enjoyed my sandwich, half at least. It was massive. The botanic garden is pretty, though I wouldn’t say it was spectacular. If you’re into art, the Ulster Museum is a stone’s throw away! Definitely some cool stuff in there to check out.

what I’m wearing:

allsaints jacket, reformation knit sweater, gucci soho disco crossbody, madewell denim, and converse.

Just arrived in Belfast

Since we’ve come back from our vacation, covid-19 has really taken over. All Europe related posts were prior to city-wide lock downs everywhere. We’re now safely at home, doing our best to keep safe and continuing to wear our masks!

Reminiscing the somewhat carefree times of spending vacation days with my dear love. We took an extended work to leisure trip in February. Our trip spanned over 2 weeks, and we managed to pack in 4 cities for our itinerary. It was our first international trip together, and I want to relive every moment of it.

Travel Day/Day 1 - February 24th, 2020

First day in Belfast - let the pub hopping and fry up breakfast eating begin!

Belfast is an extremely walkable city within the downtown and waterfront neighborhood, with the city center holding many of the high street shops, convenience stores, and (of course) pubs. Belfast does offer Uber typical from 3 - 7 pounds depending where you’re headed to, and I also saw a lot of buses and double deckers for transportation. I explored most of the city here by foot.

what I’m wearing:

reformation beret, allsaints leather jacket, reformation tan knit sweater, h&m scarf, madewell black denim, gucci disco crossbody, and trusty converse shoes.
